Our Mission
The mission of Proyecto Laguna de Sanchez is to find, catalog, explore, and map caves around Ejido Laguna de Sanchez, Nuevo León. There are six main cave areas: Mesa del Barro, Llano Grande, Mesa Colorada, La Camotera, Mesa Seca, and Cugohón, with a scattering of caves not in these clusters. Three caves were known prior to our first visit in June 1997. In 19 subsequent expeditions we have documented more than 120 additional caves. Our activities include, but are not limited to: ridgewalking, GPSing, digging, cave mapping, biological inventory, and public outreach.
